Ayivugwe as Software Developer

I’m Ayivugwe Kabemba Mukome, a software developer turned DevOps specialist and project manager. I’m originally from Congo Kinshasa and was a refugee in Burundi before moving to the US. My career has been diverse, spanning computer science, networking, and project management. I’ve earned certifications like Google Project Management and digital journalism by Meta and Reuters, which have helped me manage projects more effectively. Right now, I’m working at Walmart and starting a new position at Amazon, but I’m also deepening my skills in Python and backend development.

I’m passionate about advocating for the Kifuliiru language, and I’m building platforms like "Ibufuliiru" to promote and preserve my culture. One of my main projects is creating a Kifuliiru dictionary and educational materials to help people learn the language. I’m also working towards a Data Science Master’s degree to support my goal of developing a Kifuliiru Large Language Model (LLM). Ultimately, I want to use my skills in technology and education to make a lasting impact on my community and contribute to the preservation of my cultural heritage.

I come from the Bafuliiru community, a minority ethnic group in eastern Congo. Growing up in such a culturally rich environment, I developed a deep appreciation for the Kifuliiru language and a strong sense of cultural identity.

After studying computer science and gaining experience in software development, project management, and DevOps, I felt compelled to contribute to preserving and promoting Bafuliiru culture. This led me to initiate several projects aimed at using technology to empower my community and preserve our linguistic heritage.

With skills in software development, project management, and community engagement, I am dedicated to making an impact by bridging the gap between technology and cultural preservation, while also excelling in professional roles like DevOps engineering and project administration.
